Operations Manager - Custodial Services
Second Shift Assignment (2:30pm - 11:00 pm)
JOB GOAL: To assist the Director in Property Services in supervision of custodial and maintenance staff primarily responsible for working the evening shift.
The highly qualified candidate will have:
Education/Experience including relevant experience with facility management, HS Diploma/GED, Professional License or Building Trade Certification preferred, three (3) years relevant work experience in the fields of commercial cleaning, building security and operation, maintenance systems, preventive maintenance, and energy conservation, and two (2) years relevant work experience in personnel supervision.
Legal/Regulatory Knowledge in the field, including knowledge of environmental and material safety with respect to custodial maintenance in public buildings, knowledge of federal, state and local building, construction and public school physical plant laws and regulations, federal, state and local student transportation laws and regulations, workplace safety laws, regulations and practices, and life safety and building codes.
Personnel Management experience including team leadership experience, with preference for experience hiring, training, managing and evaluating employees, and experience with labor relations and union environments.
Department Administrative experience, including excellent communication, documentation and organizational skills using e-mail, calendar, Google docs, excel and word, experience developing and managing operating budgets, experience working cooperatively and professionally with customers(other district employees, administrators, vendors, code enforcement, contractors and the public) and experience monitoring and evaluating systems and processes to ensure effective facility management.
