is announcing a Laboratory Assistant I
opportunity at their facility in Seattle, WA
Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Laboratory Assistant position is to ensure the efficient operations of designated laboratory spaces, to include general lab organization, proper stocking of lab supplies and cleanliness. This position will work in a team environment, directly supporting the lab activities of the assigned laboratory room/s.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may vary depending on assigned laboratory space. Additional knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) or current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMPs) may be required in order to be assigned to the various production or research labs.
Responsible for stocking laboratory supplies for assigned laboratory room with materials, which may include, stocking reagents, consumables, personal protective equipment, and various other lab related supplies.
May perform a variety of routine lab operations based on skill level, with technical direction from supervisor or laboratory personnel.
Assists in maintaining cleanliness and organization of laboratory rooms and keep in excellent working order, which may include some routine equipment care, inventory checks of specific supplies and orders, and other laboratory maintenance tasks.
May prepare media and reagents, such as stock solutions.
Supports scheduled equipment cleaning and maintenance, coordinates with Facilities Dept.
Works closely with Materials Management team for inventory and supply management
Learn and adhere to SOPs, as required for the job and assigned laboratory room.
Communicates regularly with immediate supervisor, Lab Manager, Team Leaders or Scientists as needed.
Will be cross-trained in other lab areas to provide adequate coverage and seamless lab support to all areas.
May provide support with documentation and tracking as needed depending on assigned laboratory area and skill level.
Performs other duties as assigned or special projects as needed.

Organizational Context:
This position will be provided training and assigned specific laboratory spaces. Some duties may vary depending on the assigned laboratory space (e.g. Cell Editing Production Lab areas, Assay Development Lab, Research Lab). As such, may report to different managers.
This position is an individual contributor with no direct reports.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma / GED equivalency
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Adaptable and flexible regarding work duties
Ability to work independently with general supervision
Efficient, detail-oriented, able to enter data accurately, log information.
Superior organizational and planning skills to manage job duties and responsibilities for assigned lab rooms.
Eager to learn new skills and continually improve lab operations
Able to work safely within the lab and take appropriate actions to ensure lab safety
Must be able to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off-shifts, holiday, and weekend work assignments as needed.
Strong work ethic and reliability
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field
1-2 years prior experience in a clinical medical setting or laboratory experience
Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, sterile technique, solution preparation, etc.)
Experience working in GMP lab environment
