$10 - $12 hourly, D.O.E.

Works on general labor projects, usually working in area of streets capacity, by transferring form one task to another where demands require worker with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision by performing the following duties

Including the following:

driving small to heavy equipment, such as backhoes and riding mowers

measuring distances,

mixes concrete, constructs forms and finishes freshly poured cement.

Shovels black top, to cover pot holes.

Cleans storm drains

Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and control traffic.

Other duties such as yard maintenance may be assigned.

Ability to use good judgment and follow safety precautions.

Demonstrate the ability and understanding to operate equipment used in daily operations

ESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school Diploma or GED preferred or one to three months related experience and/or training. Equivalent of education and experience may be considered. Must have a Current Texas Drivers License, CDL preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and to communicate well with others.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense, understanding, and to carry out instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move from 10 up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds using proper safety precautions.

WORK ENVIROMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and extreme cold.

Physical strength and ability sufficient to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods under dirty and uncomfortable conditions and in all kinds of weather. Heavy labor is defined, for example, as frequently exerting force sufficient to lift approximately 10-25 pounds and move or maneuver 50 pounds.

Ability to maintain continuous physical effort throughout the shift, including frequent bending, walking, stooping, digging, manipulating and heavy lifting.
