RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembles, installs, test and maintain electrical or electronic
wiring
, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools and
power tools
Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment
Places conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pulls insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes
Connects power supply cables and wires, and ground leads to and between equipment and machines following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints using hand tools and voltage tester
Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, using test equipment to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components
Inspects electrical systems,
equipment
, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair ensuring compliance with codes
Repairs or replaces wiring, equipment and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and
fixtures
, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes ensuring compatibility and safety of system
Checks specification sheets to determine required electrical assemblies and any special options
Coordinates with materials handler and electrician staff to ensure adequate supplies and tools are on hand for the timely completion of all current projects
Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies
Practices electrical safety measures applying knowledge of NEC requirements and company safety policies and procedures
Provides back up support for assembling and repairing electrical products using sub-assemblies, circuit boards, components, and hardware to customer specification sheet and company policies
Ability to troubleshoot, identify and repair HVAC
Perform scheduled maintenance of HVAC systems
Ability to troubleshoot, identify and repair plumbing
Perform maintenance/repair assignments to include, but not limited to drywall repairs and painting
Must be willing to operate Company vehicle
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Five or more years of building maintenance experience, to include applied knowledge of plumbing systems and electrical maintenance and repair required
Must possess a current North Carolina Unlimited Electrical License
Experience as a HVAC Technician with a CFC Card or HVAC License required
Must have a valid Driver's License and a clear driving record for the last three years
Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety Standards. Normal business hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required, and work schedule will vary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 80 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
