This facility requires all applicants to be fully COVID vaccinated.



Fully vaccinated is two weeks after the final vaccination dose. The booster dose is recommended but not required at this time.


Department: Further Plant - Baker Hill, Alabama Position: Maintenance Generalist MG02 Work Shift: 1st Shift (5:00 am - 5:30 pm)

Schedules are not Monday thru Friday, may vary and may require overtime and holidays.

SUMMARY:

Maintenance Generalist are responsible for but not limited to:


Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction in the Feed mill

Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems

Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations

Lubricate equipment with various grease and oils

Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule

Complete appropriate paperwork and reports

Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs

Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs

Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision

Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision

Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed

Perform janitorial services if needed

Perform other duties as assigned

Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, and humid.

Must be willing to complete all required training for the job and perform any other duties assigned.

Requirements :



Minimum experience of three (3) years in Industrial Maintenance or Maintenance related field

High school diploma or equivalent

Able to read and write with reading comprehension

Possess basic math skills

Basic computer skills required

Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical

Understanding of computerized preventative maintenance programs

This position will require standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders.

Position may involve heavy lifting 50-70 lbs. or more.

Must be willing to work in damp, cold or hot environments, reach above shoulder level.

Must be able to perform all duties of the position

Be willing to stand 8- 10 hours a day.

Must wear PPE, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net and beard guard.

Must have or be able to obtain Tyson operator’s license for pallet jack or forklift, if necessary

Ability to understand technical mechanical concepts

Excellent communication skills

Strong organization skills
