Position Description:
The Maintenance Technician will support the maintenance department with the strategic and tactical support of the operations at the Eighty Four Plant. The Maintenance Technician will work on both preventative and daily initiatives. They will troubleshoot solutions a variety of mechanical and minor electrical issues. The maintenance techs will collaborate with operators to determine root causes of problems as well as conduct some basic training of operators.
This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and has no direct reports.
In an assigned work area, performs the following tasks associated with the department strategies:
• Works safely and complies with all Company safety programs.
• Develop and carry out development improvement programs for equipment and machinery and processes.
• Responsible for accurate and timely repairs.
• Understand fully the processes behind each piece of equipment and be able to explain it to others.
• Form relationships with shop floor operators, Ametek management, and peers alike. Work closely and communicate with production to manage machine up-time.
• Assist and support bench marking activities related to a variety of functions within the industry.
• Have a customer focus in terms of technical support, quality, and on time delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED required. Technical training is preferred.
• 18 years of age or older.
• 3-5 years of related manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
• Must be willing to work any shift.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and code books.
• Mechanical, welding, and fabrication skills.
• Capable of reading prints.
• General problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of relay logic, AC/DC motor drives, PLC and motor control circuits.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on individual assigned projects and collectively as a supportive team member is required.
• PC/ Computer Skills.
