The OMT-ICu0026amp;E performs work of high skill in the inspection repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of all electronic and electrical power plant equipment and systems. The OMT-ICu0026amp;E also qualifies to operate the plant.u0026nbsp;u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003ePRIMARY FUNCTIONSu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eInspect repair, install and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and storage batteries, and work with electrical systems up to and including 4160 voltsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eConduct trouble shooting and analysis on DCS, PLC and turbine control equipmentu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMaintain all plant instrumentation and electrical test equipmentu003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePerform preventive maintenance duties on all major electrical equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systemsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMaintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipmentu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAssist in maintaining and controlling spare parts inventory to maintain plant reliability.u0026nbsp; Assist in physical inventories.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eParticipate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance recordsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eFully support and participate in NAES Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eComplete other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manageru003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eu003cemu003eThe OMT-ICu0026amp;E must also qualify to perform a variety of Operations duties to support the operation of the plant based on skills and qualifications to include:u003c/emu003eu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eConduct all startup, shutdown and load changing operations on the plantu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eControl all auxiliary systems and supporting equipmentu0026nbsp;such as boilers, air compressors, circulating water systems, boiler feed water treatment and condensate systems, waste water systems, generator cooling system, and locally controlled electrical and mechanical equipmentu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eReport upset conditions or other anomalies in plant status to the Plant Manageru003c/liu003enu003cliu003eConducts all routine water/gas chemistry analysis, inspects and monitors operating components and reports plant status.u0026nbsp;u0026nbsp;Performs routine equipment rounds and inspections in compliance with established operating procedures.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eNAES SAFEu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003cpu003eSafety is a core value of NAES and as a condition of employment, all employees are expected to be mentally alert and work safely at all times.u0026nbsp; Additionally, employees are required to adhere to all safety warnings and posted safety signs whenever on company property.u0026nbsp; Furthermore, employees must follow all NAES safety rules and procedures.u0026nbsp; Effectiveness in carrying out this responsibility is part of the evaluation of each employeeu0026rsquo;s performance.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eWORKING RELATIONSHIPSu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003cpu003eThe OMT-ICu0026amp;E Technician reports to the Plant Manager and works in cooperation with the operating utility on matters pertaining to the daily operation of the plant.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003ePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003ePhysical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.).u0026nbsp; Work with hazardous materials may be required.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePosition requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAll employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program.u0026nbsp; This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.u0026nbsp; There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eJOB QUALIFICATIONSu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eAbility to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high schoolu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eGraduation from an accredited Instrument Technician Program desirableu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eExperience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cemu003eu003cstrongu003eWork experience as a technician with increasing responsibility in a related industry; experience in a power plant environment preferred to include the following:u003c/strongu003eu003c/emu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eDistributive Control System (DCS) troubleshooting, maintenance and upkeep (plant technology will be GEN MK6e)u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProgrammable Logic Controller (PLC) system (plant will use Allen Bradley)u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eThorough knowledge, skill and hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience relating to:nu003culu003enu003cliu003eInstrumentation and control systems used in modern power stations, including burner management, combustion control, boiler controls, turbine controls and machine condition monitoringu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eElectrical systems used in modern power stations, including 13.8 KV switchgear and motors, 4160 volt switchgear and motors, 480 volt motors and control centers, transformers, batteries, inverters and chargers, main generator and excitation equipmentu003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eExcellent oral and written communication skillsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAbility to work well with others and be self-directed, as well as apply creative solutions to unique Iu0026amp;E problemsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eExcellent organizational skillsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAbility to use most common computer programs such as Excel, Word, etc.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMust be able to work from blueprintsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eValid driveru0027s license requiredu003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cemu003eNAES is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
