Job Title: Chick Delivery Driver Job Group: 7A

FLSA Status: Nonexempt Position reports to : Sr Specialist Transportation

Location: Wadesboro Hatchery, Wadesboro, NC

Schedule: Work schedule is subject to change based on production needs.

Position Summary:


This position is responsible for ensuring proper delivery of Cobb products to all customers including the U.S., Canada and Mexico.


Minimum Requirements:


Education: Must be able to read, write, and have simple math skills. Have the ability to operate an electronic log. Must have good oral and written communication skills; legible handwriting is required for Production and Receiving reports.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License, one year verifiable Class A CDL experience operating a class 8 commercial motor vehicle with clean safety record.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Timely delivery of Cobb products to all customers or airports (80%)
Duties include:
Maintains egg inventory records
Records egg deliveries
Completes required D.O.T. reports and Ryder inspection forms. (15%)
Other duties, responsibilities, activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. (5%)


Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements:

The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:


Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift up to 60 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to corn and soy dust.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as needed. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
Chemicals Commonly Used: Herbicides, Pesticides, and Disinfectants.
Safety: Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment. Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks.


General Sign Off : The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies. Failure to perform this job to above standards could lead to progressive discipline up to and including termination. Qualified applicants must live within 50 miles of the Wadesboro, NC facility and must have at least one year of work experience with one employer over the past three years with no gaps in employment of over six months.(Exceptions are made for layoffs, attending school, or the birth of a child.)

Addendum to Job Descriptions for Source Control and Essential Functions

During the current Pandemic (2020), all Team Members will be required to wear company issued facial coverings. Training will be provided to each Team Member specific to their job and their facility location in addition to signing an acknowledgement form they understand these expectations.

It is considered an essential function of each job for a Team Member to wear the company issued facial coverings. If a Team Member indicates they will not wear the mask, they will not be considered for the position in which they are applying or any position that requires the facial covering. Starting Wage: $20.10 / Hr.

Plus, additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.
