Duties
The biggest responsibility of a Welder/Fabricator is to make parts that fully meet all required specifications. To achieve this primary goal, they typically perform the following job duties:
Mig welding nuts/washers/other to bolts
Set up and operate fabricating machines such as cutters, saws, threaders, and headers.
Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
Operate forklift occasionally
Set up, operate, or tend plating or coating machines to coat metal products with zinc.
Heat material in a forge to prepare for heading
Lift materials or workpieces using cranes or other lifting equipment
Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
Desired Skills and Abilities
Understand units of measurement
Prior mechanical experience or being mechanically inclined (capable of recognizing machine issues and irregularities)
Previous forklift experience/certification is a plus
Qualification
Years of Experience: 1
Education: High School/G.E.D
