Job Description:

Position Purpose

The Electrical Inspector is responsible for the delivery of electrical design, troubleshooting support, and electrical inspection to support refinery operations, maintenance, projects, and TA activities.

This role is responsible for the following:

Delivers electrical technical expertise to support reliable refinery operations and maintenance including, but not limited to:


Providing day to day electrical technical support to refinery Production and I&E Department as required for all electrical equipment (defined by Equipment Owner List Standing Instruction)
Can be Responsible Person for managing electrical MOCs as well as action assignee for Electrical Quality Control or Quality Assurance items and post-startup documentation updates.
Reviewing electrical installations (new or existing) at the facility for code and plant specification conformance. Acts as the facility's focal point for interactions with the Washington State Labor and Industries Electrical Inspector as well as any 3rd parties used for Field Engineering Evaluations of non-Listed Electrical Equipment.
Can provide assurance to spare parts management including inspection of engineered equipment on arrival, audit of storehouse PMs, non-stock repair decisions, etc.
Responsible for temporary electrical installations within the facility including the following: creating standards, designing or reviewing proposed setup, being Responsible Person for temporary MOCs, and inspection.


Provides input and assurance to the Electrical Managed Equipment Care program:


Preventive maintenance & reactive maintenance test report evaluation and assurance
Approve changes to Reliability Centered Maintenance tasks based on suggested changes or field feedback
Apply the site's strategies for new equipment or projects for RCM studies
Technical field support to electricians conducting PMs.
Monitoring of metrics related to task completion


Is responsible for developing and executing reliability strategies for electrical equipment:


Provide input to enhance refinery reliability through equipment upgrades
Coordinate technical input and assurance programs for projects executed by location Projects Department
Provide QA for field execution, offsite shop (motor) oversite, and Documentation of test reports
May provide Work Packages for the electrical discipline, in support of run and maintain as well as turnaround activities.


Is responsible for creating and assuring updates to critical electrical documentation:


GSAP Electrical Equipment Naming Assignments, Conventions and Hierarchy
Spare Parts / GSAP Bills of Material / GSAP equipment data as applicable


Skills & Requirements

What we need from you -


Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
At least Highschool diploma.
Minimum of five (5) years experience Electrical design, Electrical inspection, or Electrician role.
Flexible and ambitious with respect to job roles and responsibilities.
Refinery or chemical plant experience is an advantage.
Instrumentation installation and design experience in addition to electrical experience
Skilled in the use of pdf editing software (Adobe Pro, Bluebeam Vu/Revu, etc.).
Familiarity with electrical equipment troubleshooting, testing, and calibration techniques.
Skilled in understanding and applying Industry and Regulatory standards especially as it pertains to electrical installations in hazardous locations
