HVAC Mechanic II - Position 101731
Facilities Management at the University of Maryland College Park seeks a qualified mechanics to monitor the operations of fixed HVAC equipment and distribution systems in mechanical rooms. Some of the duties of the position include cleaning and/or maintaining condenser water tubes on centrifugal and reciprocating chillers, cooling tower tanks, sumps, screens and spray nozzles and cleaning water coil fan assemblies. Performing necessary maintenance on unitary air-cooled HVAC equipment. Identifying and isolating mechanical/electrical problems and planning and executing necessary repairs. Performing regular required preventative maintenance on pumps, motors and shaft bearings; and, changing filtration systems on various air conveyance systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED; a valid Class “C” driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points; and have a minimum of six years related experience. Levels 1 and 2 CFC certification required.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
Salary based on qualifications and experience. Position is Essential and subject to 24-hour/day, 7-day/week span of operation. Benefits include health, dental, vision and prescription insurance plans, tuition remission for employees and dependents, and participation in the State pension system.
