General Description of Position:
This position works under the direction of the Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Campus Lead (PSEP) to ensure general safety and security of persons and college property, while providing reception and customer services duties to students, employees and visitors.
Major Responsibilities:
Maintain Confidentiality at all times.
Greet students, employees and visitors of campus buildings.
Build a professional and positive rapport with employees and students.
Monitor the security desk and main entrance areas.
Assist students, employees and visitors as needed.
Assist with traffic flow by giving directions as requested.
Perform clerical duties as they are assigned.
Assist students and employees with obtaining campus ID’s.
Assist students and employees with obtaining access codes for the gym and exercise facilities.
Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.
Assisting with and/or responding to emergencies and drills such as fire, injury or bomb threat, and provide orderly and safe egress of occupants.
Fill out incident, insurance, accident and other forms as required. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of information.
Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrate exceptional levels of customer service at all times.
Good communication skills and ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and situations.
Perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.
Work a flexible schedule as requested.
Attendance is crucial.
Follow detailed procedures.
Must have or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid and AED Certification.
Work collegially and independent of intensive supervision.
Ability to be pro-active and think on your feet.
Be computer literate (understand and use Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Be methodical and pay attention to detail.
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving history.
Physical Demands:
Essential functions of the position require the employee to use a telephone, two-way radio, work at a standard computer terminal and be able to follow reasonable ergonomic recommendations, sit for long periods of time, repetitive motions, stand, reach, bend, lift and occasionally carry up to 20 pounds. In the event of an emergency, be able to respond quickly and methodically.
Walking regularly to include rounding inside and outside campus buildings.
