The PPO responds to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions and executes plant shutdown and startup procedures as required. The PPO ensures that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating in a safe, productive and efficient manner.u003c/spanu003eu003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003ePRIMARY FUNCTIONSu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003cpu003eThe PPO will perform a variety of duties based on skills and qualifications to include:u003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eu003cspanu003eConduct all startup, shutdown and load changing operations on the plantu003c/spanu003eu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eu003cspanu003e Control all auxiliary systems and supporting equipmentu0026nbsp;such as boilers, air compressors, circulating water systems, boiler feed water treatment and condensate systems, waste water systems, generator cooling system, and locally controlled electrical and mechanical equipmentu003c/spanu003eu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eu003cspanu003eReport upset conditions or other anomalies in plant status to the Plant Manageru003c/spanu003eu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eu003cspanu003eConducts all routine water/gas chemistry analysis, inspects and monitors operating components and reports plant status.u0026nbsp;u0026nbsp;Performs routine equipment rounds and inspections in compliance with established operating procedures.u003c/spanu003eu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eu003cspanu003e Ensure that the plant is in compliance with all environmental and safety programs at all timesu003c/spanu003eu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eu003cspanu003ePerform remedial and preventative maintenance to repair and/or chemistryu003c/spanu003eu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eu003cspanu003eTake immediate corrective action in response to emergency situations to minimize safety hazards, and to reduce damage or downtime to the plant and its equipment.u003c/spanu003eu003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePerform operating tests and inspections, and make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment assigned to achieve proper operating conditionsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMaintain accurate log sheets as assignedu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eComplete other tasks as requested by the the Plant periods of time, requiring stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.u0026nbsp; Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection and others must be worn in the performance of some duties.u0026nbsp; Work with hazardous materials may be required.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eThis position requires extended working hours and varied shifts including weekend and holiday work as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. u0026ldquo;On Callu0026rdquo; status may periodically be required.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eAll personnel will
