Job Details:
SUMMARY: This position may be required to perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to, operation of wastewater analysis laboratory, operation and maintenance of wastewater collection system, operation and maintenance of wastewater pre-treatment system, operation and maintenance of wastewater full treatment system or operation and maintenance of any other type of water or wastewater treatment system. Activities may include, but are not limited to: collecting samples for analysis in accordance with EPA, state and/or health departments regulations, performing a variety of chemical analysis (both in and out of a laboratory setting), making system adjustments based on interpretation of results from chemical analysis, making educated decisions on maintaining regulatory compliance, performing mathematical calculations utilizing basic algebraic formulas and a calculator, completing computerized reports, compiling information and correctly completing monthly reports as required by permits, state authority, EPA or corporate management, utilization of basic organizational skills, basic mechanical skills, basic electrical wiring skills, proper communication of current operational status to upper management, maintaining operations logs, performing minor to major maintenance on equipment, operation of a spotter tuck and/or a fork lift; grounds keeping, painting, general house- keeping; Applicants will be considered for Offal Operator open position in the live receiving department. Duties include keeping offal area clean and free from debris, monitor conveyors which move product to trailers to ensure foreign material is removed. Operator backs trailers and tankers into the loading area and commences loading of blood, meat, or feathers. When the trailers or tankers are filled they are drained of any excess water and moved out to the yard for pickup. Feathers are raked down even with the top of the trailer before placing tarp over trailer. The roller screens are kept clean and free of foreign material along with the floors inside and outside of the Offal area. Must be able to work in a dusty, cold, hot, damp, humid, wet environment with a high concentration of allergens, have the ability to stand for 10 to 12 hours a day along with the ability to grasp, grip, twist, pull, bend and stoop occasionally. other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School diploma or equivalent Experience: 1 years Wastewater experience preferred. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical Certification: Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license, and will be required to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A at this facility; must meet and maintain the minimum qualification levels as required by state regulations. Physical Requirements: Physical lifting of heavy objects (50-75 pounds), climbing and/or descending stairs or ladders working in unsanitary conditions, working with hazardous chemicals. Supervisory: None Travel: 1 to 2 trips per year
