Under limited supervision, responsible for handling permanent medical records of patients ensuring records are complete, accurate and adhere to standards.
Essential Duties:
Ensure patient medical records are indexed and stored appropriately.
Obtain and handle medical record document requests from outside parties, which may include subpoenas, FMLA forms, etc. for response and regulation compliance.
Train and provide direction to HIM staff on record management.
Scan and/or manage the scanning of pertinent information into patient’s EMR.
Perform other duties as assigned.','!*!Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of medical record technology or medical terminology course preferred
Experience:
4 years related experience in a healthcare environment required.
