Job Details:
Summary:
This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product through the production process. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
These positions are on a 4/3 work schedule (work 4 days 12 hours a day, then have 3 days off).
Responsible for operating rendering equipment and performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting. Clean and do upkeep of all assigned areas. Must be able to use computers to operate and monitor rendering equipment/machinery. Must be able to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment. Must be able to read reports and record daily production information. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Good organizational skills and effective oral and written communications skills required. Must be able to read and comprehend written manuals and procedures. Must be able and willing to work around the sight and smell of meat and processing bi-products; work at heights above the normal work area on ladders, lifts and scaffolds; able to work in extreme hot and cold environments with seasonal winter temperatures below zero and summer temperatures up to 110 degrees. Able to lift up to 62 lbs. occasionally and stand on your feet on hard surfaces for 8-12 hours.

A team member will not be considered if they have any one of the following disciplines on record: Failure to get along with co-workers at any stage; Safety violation at written warning suspension stage; Work (job) performance at written warning suspension stage or Code of Conduct at written warning/suspension. An applicant will NOT be considered for this position if there are currently from application date, MORE THAN 5.5 points of absenteeism on their record. Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities then external candidates.
