We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Service Desk Technician II in the Technology Services Department. We are recruiting for one position and it can be filled in any Alliance office: Merced, Salinas or Scotts Valley, California.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reporting to the Service Desk Manager, you will:
Provide general end-user support and maintenance of the computer desktop environment by documenting, analyzing and resolving reported technical problems
Perform desktop maintenance, support, upgrades, and the new hire process
Maintain and administer telecommunications, videoconferencing and related equipment and services
Repair and maintain computer hardware and peripheral components
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Knowledge of:
Methods and tools used to support current Microsoft operating systems
Methods and tools associated with supporting remote users
Commonly used applications in Windows, including Adobe Acrobat, WinZip, GoToAssist, MS Teams, Edge, Chrome, FTP and SFTP
Methods and techniques associated with supporting virtual workstations
Methods and tools used to troubleshoot hardware issues related to PC desktops and laptops
Active Directory and OU structure
Ability to:
Independently identify, research and resolve issues
Understand client operating systems, TCP/IP networking principles and troubleshooting techniques
Maintain organized and accurate records
Demonstrate strong customer service skills, on the phone and in-person
Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, adjusting communication style as needed
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of three years of experience in a computer operations environment which included PC hardware and software support and administration (an Associate’s degree may substitute for one year of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying
OTHER DETAILS
While this position is connected to one of our Alliance offices, we are in a fully telecommute work environment right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The interview and on-boarding process for this position will be completed remotely
This position
may
require onsite presence when our offices re-open, which will be no sooner than February 1, 2022. Onsite presence will most likely be on a part-time basis, but is dependent on business needs
