Job Summary:
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. has an exciting opportunity for a position in our Engineering Test Laboratory in La Crosse, Wisconsin as an Electronics Technician II. This entry-level position supports testing of new product development, sustainability, quality improvement projects, and agency compliance. This role is responsible for tests in the Lab that produce qualifying performance & safety data on Trane Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning products and components. The job requires problem-solving, troubleshooting, organization, and collaboration and works closely with Engineering and other Lab personnel to complete projects.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Assist in providing end-to-end concept and validation electronics testing including planning, instrumentation, data acquisition setup, and testing in accordance with approved test plan and agency standards with guidance from Test Engineer or Senior Technician for Trane Commercial HVAC products
Support laboratory operations by providing accurate and repeatable data to Product Engineering teams under the direction of more senior technician staff
Troubleshoot and diagnose common test problems while increasing technical skills and knowledge of Trane products and processes
Drive for continuous improvement in job performance and laboratory procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Electronics or Electrical-Mechanical is required; OR 1-year Certificate/Diploma in Electronics with at least 5 years relevant work experience is required.
Strong grasp of electronics principles and troubleshooting is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
Key Competencies:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
A working knowledge of measurement and control equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, etc.), data acquisition, and communications
Basic understanding of schematics, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical reports, safety rules, operation, and maintenance instructions
Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills to speak and listen effectively before groups of customers or employees in the organization
