This position is responsible to diagnose issues, adjust, repair, and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This position will work in all areas of the Service Center. Must be willing to learn to drive tractors with or without trailers into and out of the Truck Shop and on the grounds. Must be willing to obtain forklift certification and operate a forklift. Must be willing to maintain and repair all fleet equipment. Must be willing to diagnose and repair light and heavy-duty trucks (tractor-trailers, brakes, tires, engines for 18 wheelers) and fans. Must be willing to complete road service calls as needed. Must be willing to fill out all necessary documentation legibly and enter work orders into the computer. Must be willing to clean up tools, parts and the truck shop, including spills. Must be willing to maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations. Also, must be willing to lift up to 50 pounds to complete assigned tasks. Must be able to communicate clearly with management and team members, both orally, verbally, and in writing regarding required service manuals.
Must furnish 80% of tools required.
Must have 1-year general mechanic experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
