SUMMARY
Global Asset Technologies LLC (GAT), a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified
Gunsmith I Lead
. The
Gunsmith I
Lead perform support services for non-GIN tasks that exceed the organic Task Force Marshall capabilities detailed within the PWS. Support includes but is not limited to the processing, administrative functions, and any other function necessary to train USAR and United States Navy Individual Augmentees (NIACT).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are
not
intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
Secure and control all sensitive items to include proper security of weapons and ammunition IAW AR 190-11, Ft. Jackson Physical Security regulations, Ft. Jackson Supplements and TFM SOPs.
Serve as the BN AA&E key & lock custodian to ensure appropriate security measures for the arms vault and supply room. There is currently a vault and working ISIDS.
Be responsible for monitoring the proper operation of the alarm system in the vault, notifying proper authorities for repair and securing the vault until repair is made. Securing is a GIN function. BN S4 will make arrangements if alarm cannot be repaired immediately.
Respond to alarm calls within 15 minutes and be onsite within 90 minutes.
Assist the TF Armorer NCOIC and NIACT Weapons Accountability Officer in the execution of weapons cleaning both at TFM McCrady and the Fort Jackson Weapons Pool.
Assist with the inventory and inspection of all weapons at both TFM McCrady and the Ft. Jackson installation Weapons Pool.
Ensure the availability of all Sets, Kits, and Outfits (SKO) for issue to all Sailors. Ensures all associated equipment is issued/available for issue to NIACT students. To include all items associated with Students’ go to war weapons.
Required to drive to Fort Jackson ranges to support weapons malfunctions and issue additional weapons in support of training. Required to be on site at range during all live fire exercises. Must maintain 100% coverage during those live fire days.
Must maintain 100 % support coverage of the Arms Room during the following periods: •1) Student training hours. •2) Weapons issue/turn-in days •3) 100% coverage at the designated live fire ranges. This includes weekend hours. •4) Bastogne/heavy weapons range; this includes an early morning distribution of weapons and 100% coverage until turn-in that evening to conclude when all weapons are accounted for. •5) Final exercise-which includes early morning distribution of weapons and concludes that evening after all weapons are accounted for.
Be familiar with all categories of US military small arms required for this position (M16, M9, M249, M240B, M2, and M4). To include cleaning procedures, chemical storage procedures, HAZCOM and correcting weapons malfunctions.
Be familiar with usage and operation of an arms room and its security systems and access controls IAW AR 190-11.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications
For personnel, whose tasks involve operation of any vehicles must possess a valid U.S. state driver’s license, applicable for the type and class of vehicle being operated.
Be able to operate a Personal Computer with a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (primarily Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Windows graphical user interface) and Data/web based systems required for task area performing work. Be able to troubleshoot common computer hardware & software problems.
Have a working knowledge of Army and Navy rank structure and military unit relationships (e.g., Company, Battalion, Brigade, Division, etc. and Navy equivalents).
Be able to work under stressful conditions and be physically able to demonstrate the training/support tasks to standard.
Have a working knowledge of mobilization/demobilization operations IAW FORSCOM Regulation 500-3-1 thru 500-3-5.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be able to pass extensive background investigation and pre-employment medical testing.
Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance and pass a local security screening.
Must be able to articulate, speak, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Contractor shall maintain a high standard of dress and appearance (Business Casual).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Capable of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules and regulations.
Meet physical/health requirements for duties.
Must be able to follow Standard Codes of Conduct pertaining to interaction with Army and Navy Personnel.
Preferred
Experience in Logistics (Military Weapons).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory responsibility of two personnel.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
