Sanitation Assistant ','221175','Food & Nutrition Patient','Washington-Seattle','Variable','24 hours per week','24 hours per week','1:30pm to 10pm','1:30pm to 10pm','Sunday, Monday & Friday','Sunday, Monday & Friday','','','!*!The Food Services Sanitation Asst is responsible for such duties as: washing dishes, silverware, utensils, pots, pans and equipment in accordance with health, safety, and sanitary procedures; retrieving meal trays from patient care units throughout the medical center; cleaning floors and emptying garbage; replenishing floor stock; taking and recording temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dish machine; and maintaining cleanliness of the nursing units’ refrigerators and/or freezers.

','!*!A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required for this position. Current State of Washington Food Handlers Permit required. Also required are: demonstrated competency in safely and/or accurately operating a variety of equipment including, but not limited to: multiple-tank flight-type commercial dish machine, dish conveyor belt, soap dispensing equipment, garbage disposal, trash compactor, high pressure hose, silverware soak sink, three-compartment sink, dish dollies, booster heater and mop buckets; ability to manage several tasks and set priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language at the 8th grade level; ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, recipes and procedure manuals; ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one situations with customers and other VM staff.Preferred: Six months related experience and/or training.
