Description:

The Estates Building and Engineering department are looking for a professional Plumber with a multi-skilled trade background to join our proactive, customer facing maintenance team. You will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, customer focused integrated, cost effective and progressive planned and reactive maintenance service, creating a safe and high quality environment for students, staff and visitors to the University, across a diverse range of facilities, buildings and plumbing assets both commercial and domestic. Working under the guidance of the Building and Engineering Maintenance Supervisor. You will be undertaking a wide range of mainly plumbing activities in an effective and timely manner to successfully achieve the Estates Service plan contributing to the efficient operation of the University, this will include the initial investigation of Fire alarm activations. Working within a flexible and efficient Estates Service team, maintaining and developing processes that provide a safe, effective and efficient service ensuring that customer expectations are managed. Monitoring and maintaining the campus site, identifying defects and faults, assessing and quantifying materials for projects, taking appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the facilities. The operation of a range of systems, equipment and associated maintenance schedules to safeguard customers, partners, stakeholders and facilities. Appropriate use of a range of materials, equipment, machinery and PPE, ensuring that current regulations and industry specifications are adhered to. You will be supported in your ability to coordinate and collaborate with team members, undertaking multi-skilled work to achieve joint projects and objectives to meet the changing needs of the service.
