2nd shift: 2:00pm – 10:30pm

SUMMARY: The fabricator I is an entry level fabricator position. They will assist maintenance in all areas to ensure that the facility is running at peak efficiency during production and to manufacture equipment and parts for systems. With guidance from senior fabricators they will be able to fabricate new parts, and repair existing systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

Weld stainless steel and galvanized steel.

Weld projects by stick, MIG and TIG

Read and understand blueprints.

Work closely with maintenance associates on processing equipment.

Assist in covering the floor when maintenance associates are required to be in other places.

General Carpentry, Mechanical and Electrical skills

All other essential duties as directed by the maintenance manager.

Work within safety guidelines at all times

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings

Must have a good knowledge of hand and power tools.

CAD knowledge a bonus

Ability to weld with stick, TIG and MIG

Electrical/Mechanical troubleshooting experience preferred

Must be at least 18yrs of age

Able to work overtime as required

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Education and/or Experience:

Have attended a two-year program in fabrication or welding or have 2 years’ experience as a fabricator

Training or work experience in electrical/mechanical principals and troubleshooting preferred

Communication Skills:

Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language in order to communicate well and interpret CAD drawings and work orders

Physical Requirements / Environment:

Stand/Walk: Continuously (at least 8 hours a day)

Lift/Carry: Frequently (1-10 lbs.), occasionally (up to 35-50 lbs.)

Grasp: Frequently (3-4 hours a day)

Occasionally (1-3 hours a day); bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder, crouch, kneel, push/pull

Continuously: working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working on a ladder at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odor.
