This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
The basic function of the Electronic Technician is to maintain, test, and align major electronic components of but not limited to plant equipment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoots and repairs analog and digital electrical assemblies to component level using basic electronic test equipment; meet Quality Control standards of high and low temperature soldering, layouts of equipment standards, and does basic mechanical assembly; follow safety rules and regulations; repair P.C. boards and maintains documentation records; troubleshoot and repair electronic components and aligns specialized equipment such as Safeline Metal Detectors; have basic knowledge of electronics complex schematics, troubleshooting to component level (analog & digital), correct safety practices, correct handling and operation of (electronic) test equipment, assembly drawing and schematic reading, correct mechanical assembly procedures, electrical, electronics, and mechanical functions of, but not limited to, scales, metal detectors, heat controls, and other plant equipment; perform other various duties on a routine or non-routine basis at the discretion of his/her supervisor or other members of management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications for the position of Electronic Technician include a high school diploma or equivalent and two years Electronic Technology training (i.e. military training, vocational school, college courses), plus five years related technical experience, troubleshooting and repairing analog and digital electronic equipment to component level. Requires shop mathematics, ability to read complicated schematics, two years applied trade training; sufficient communication skill to maintain good working relationships; sufficient physical capabilities to vertically move objects weighting up to 100 lbs. from 1 to 55 occasionally, up to 60 lbs. from 1 to 65 frequently, horizontally move same from 10' to 75' without mechanical assistance, exert upper extremity forces of up to 60 lbs. frequently, exert grip forces of 40 lbs. frequently, climb steps at rate of 50/hr., stand during entire shift, walk up to 4 miles during an 8 hour period, tolerate spaces of 24 by 24, sufficient near, far and color vision to perform operations, tolerate heights up to 50', tolerate extremes of temperatures, both heat and cold.
