SUMMARY:

Capable of fabricating erecting assigned tasks using various types of metals; stainless steel galvanized black iron. Ranging from angle iron channel iron round flat stock etc. Capable of performing the 3 major types of welding TIG welding ARC welding MIG welding Must be able to safely operate hand power tools shop equipment to include metal shear metal brake drill press metal lathe plasma cutter oxy acetylene torch sanders etc. Able to weld in multiple positions flat vertical horizontal or overhead. Must be capable of reading blueprints specifications sketches work orders plan layout assembly and welding operations. Perform close tolerance to meet layout print specifications using calipers micrometers etc. as needed. Set up and operate welding fabricating equipment to perform jobs blueprints sketches or verbal orders. Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications. Perform machining with lathe broaching tools drilling tapping and other machining functions. Maintain tools equipment in a safe clean and orderly manner including shop tools welding cutting gauges and welding equipment. Follow company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for operating machinery to fabricate structures and equipment. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have one year of industrial maintenance experience that involves welding and at least six months of continuous work history with same employer within the last twelve months or was attending technical school or training within the last twelve months to be considered for this position. Related technical school or training will be considered in lieu of work experience. Must be able to work assigned shifts and weekends. Technical training in any maintenance/welding/fabrication related field and/or prior applicable job-related experience is preferred.

Applicant must be willing to complete all required training for the job.

Exhibit ability to progress through the Maintenance skills training program and obtain the required job-related skills.

Communication Skills: Strong communication skills verbal and written.

Internal Candidates: Must have 4 attendance points or less at the time of job posting (for hourly TMs), or 1 instance or less at the time of job posting (for management support TMs). Must not have a safety discipline within the past yea r
