SUMMARY

Eagle Eye Electric, LLC is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Technician. The Technician will assist in the performance of Eagle Eye Electric, LLC electrical and instrumentation requirements in support of the Yuma Desalting Plant (YDP) Operations and Maintenance Support Services Contract.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are

not

intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.

Examine electrical and instrumentation equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling electrical and/or instrumentation equipment to perform repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools, multi-meters, calibrators, and testing equipment

Perform routine and non-routine inspections of flow meters, conductivity meters, valves and other associated equipment that keep the YDP, Water Quality Improvement Center (WQIC) operational and the YDP Production Plant (PP) in a ready reserve status

Responsibilities include replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock, and ordering the production of a replacement parts from vendors and suppliers using company purchasing requests.

Performing calibrations on instrumentation and completing weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance (PMs) work orders

Writing work orders for work that cannot be performed on PMs

Support the operations and maintenance of the Yuma Area Office, YDP

Perform housekeeping assignments as required for the water treatment facility, shop area and plant facilities

In general, the work of a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic (electrical/instrument) requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Able to obtain an ISA certification (within 6 months after hire date)

Experience with operating and maintaining Instrumentation and electrical equipment

Experience with electrical systems and instrumentation

Valid Arizona Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent customer service skills, including verbal communication and interpersonal relations skills

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Basic analytical and creative problem solving skills, along with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites software

Preferred

Knowledge of pneumatic and electrical valves, flow meters and level sensors

Ability to read and mark up electrical drawings and schematics

Knowledge of substations and distribution grids.

Knowledge of SCADA control systems, from a user standpoint is desired

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office and field setting.  During work in the field setting, the candidate will be exposed to an environment typical of the southwest desert extreme temperatures.   The candidate may also at times be required to work around chemicals typical of a water treatment facility

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises direct reports.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

Candidate must also pass a Government Minimum Level Background Investigation.

As a condition of employment, the candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check to obtain access to the YDP.  Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
