If you are a water treatment professional with a passion for the environment and providing safe drinking water to area residents and businesses, Veolia Idaho Water may be the company for you. We are looking for water treatment professionals to join our local team.
Do you have previous experience in water production and/or water treatment operation roles? Do you have previous experience in electrical, construction, and controls working environments with a proven ability to perform basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, pumping, and other equipment and facilities associated with water production, treatment, and controls?
Here's a look at the principal areas of responsibility: Maintains water production and quality for public consumption. Monitors daily system demand along with influencing factors such as weather and seasonality. Controls system pressure, monitors booster stations and storage facilities, and observes treatment conditions. Operates and maintains water treatment plants and well systems to support a Class IV water system. Operates on-site and using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and other technology in the most effective manner. Performs basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, pumping, and other equipment and facilities associated with water production, treatment and control.
Qualifications Core Requirements
High school degree or equivalent to include coursework in Chemistry, Biology, Algebra, and Geometry. The above coursework requirement may be waived if an applicant has completed other coursework, certification, license, or training encompassing the above areas.
Must possess and maintain a valid Idaho state driver's license.
Appropriate state operator's license required either at start of employment or within 1 year after the minimum time frame as established by the Idaho State Board of Drinking Water and Wastewater Professionals.
Previous experience in water production and/or water treatment operation roles preferred. Previous electrical, construction, and controls experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to perform basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, pumping and other equipment and facilities associated with water production, treatment and controls.
Skills and Abilities Needed:
This job is classified as medium to heavy work exertion. It is a physically and mentally demanding role. Operators are required to work in and out of doors, in inclement weather on uneven and sometimes slippery terrain.
Proven ability to use good judgment, common sense, and reason when solving problems Ability to function in a digital world, using computer, laptop, tablet, and smart phone devices.
