Profile

This position starts at $20.25/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift and potential for overtime. There is potential to progress quickly within levels based on completed training and demonstrated skills on the job. We have open positions for third shift.

This facility operates five days a week and produces Sausage Patties, Roll Sausage and Sausage Links.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for upkeep of the production equipment, forklift and all equipment associated in supporting production, while also being able to adhere to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must perform planned, routine, or emergency mechanical or electrical repairs on the equipment assigned by management.

Must maintain the equipment in peak operating condition.

Must be able to repair and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.

Perform various other tasks as assigned by Leadperson, Supervisor or Superintendent.

Vocational/Technical institute and/or documented apprenticeship program will be taken into consideration.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform planned, routine and emergency work.

Must have knowledge of how to use basic hand and power tools.

Must be able to accept written and verbal direction from supervisor.

Must be able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.

Must have knowledge in troubleshooting of equipment in an industrial environment which includes mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical components/equipment.

Ability to communicate effectively with company employees and all levels of management. Familiar with the safe operation of production line conveyor equipment.

Ability to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours. ALL employees are responsible for upholding principles of SQF 2000.

Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

Must be willing and able to complete required and additional maintenance training.

Must be willing and able to work overtime, including weekends.

External: Must have at least 3 months previous manufacturing work experience with a single employer within the last 12 months. Minimum 6 months cumulative industrial maintenance experience or equivalent training required.

Internal: Must not have more than 5 attendance occurrences. Must not have a disciplinary suspension on file in the past 6 months. Must be in your current position for a minimum of six (6) months unless this job is a higher class than you currently hold. Minimum 6 months cumulative industrial maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
