Job Details:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the physical security of the facility, including assignments to walking or stationary posts, depending upon the location. The position will require inspection and control of persons and vehicles while entering or leaving the facility, logging of truck traffic during ingress and egress, writing reports, performing preliminary investigations in addition to switchboard operations, two-way radio communication and intercom equipment. Specific duties include: Checking identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and Team Members, allowing only authorized personnel into the facility; Checking all carry-in items including bags, briefcases, toolboxes, lunchboxes, etc. Writing investigative reports; Preliminary investigations of accidents, thefts, workplace violence, and other incidents as needed; Roving or walking through the plant to check physical facility security; Log truck traffic during ingress and egress to the facility and inspection of all motor vehicles driven into the plant.

Education: High School diploma or its equivalency.

Experience: Supervisory and investigative skills helpful but not mandatory, necessary training provided for successful applicants.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are desirable, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Communication Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate under stressful situations. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.

Special Skills: Excellent communication skills are a necessity and applicant must possess the ability to interact respectfully with all Team Members, including Tyson Management. Must have the ability to handle

sensitive issues with discretion.

Reports to: Senior Security Officer

Position Specific Requirements: Must be able to work in both hot cold temperatures, be able to work both independently and under supervision as well as having a positive work ethic attitude.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License

Travel: None

Candidates who are currently working for Tyson Foods Louisa County will be considered for this position first.

If none of those Team Members are selected, then Team members from other Tyson locations will be given consideration, and then external candidates if posted externally.

The Candidate selected for this position must be able to work extended hours as required per management.
