Job Details:

This position is response for inventory control in the maintenance shop, as well as receiving and storing parts, maintenance supplies, and miscellaneous receivers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Ability to grasp, grip, twist, pull bend and stoop for 12-hour shifts. Must be willing to individually lift up to 40lbs repetitively through your shift and 100 lbs occasionally with assistance from others. Tech will be walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling in all types of weather.

Computer: General knowledge of computers and E-mail systems (Microsoft office experience preferred).

Responsibilities and Duties

Maintains a professional work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with drivers, co-workers, and vendors.

Establish and control stocking levels for parts

Performs weekly cycle counts and conducts physical inventories.

Execute parts inventory management processes to include conducting physical inventory, parts ordering, receiving, coordinating parts pick-up and delivery as well as stocking inventory.

Maintains accurate records of inventory levels, audits, counts and adjustments.

Investigates and reconciles inventory reports.

Prepares requisitions for stock and special order purchases of parts.

Issues parts to mechanics relieving the part from inventory to repair orders correctly.

Receives and unpacks parts by verifying accuracy of shipment from vendor, parts numbers, quantities and pricing.

Receive, tag, stock, and disburse parts to technicians.

Assist in loading and unloading of parts.

Prepares and processes warranty claims.

Returns parts and cores according to policy and procedure and track credits.

Maintains cleanliness and organization of the stock room; performs routine housekeeping duties in the parts room, shop and work area.

Give current Material Safety Data Sheets to appropriate person.

May assist in other areas of the vehicle maintenance shop as needed.

Receive parts into the computer system and maintains proper documentation for accounts payable.

Provide courteous service to Technicians at the parts room window.

Performs computer based training pertaining to parts look up and warranty per manufacture.

Recognize and document equipment ID numbers, mileage readings and signage. Document part numbers on log sheets and work orders, track parts usage.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Ability to effectively utilize parts manuals and manufacturers build sheets.

Possesses a solid understanding of inventory-related best practices.

Strong organizational skills; detail oriented.

Computer proficiency with good data entry skills.

Self motivated; capable of working independently

Ability to routinely lift weights of 75 lbs.

Basic knowledge of vehicle parts, maintenance, and repair.

Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.

Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.

Required:

Valid driver’s license and safety toed foot ware are required.

Work Experience: Must have 3 mo. work history in past 6 mo. combination of employers if experience is at least 3 years).
