ENSCO is seeking a Senior Rail Track Maintainer with experience within the railway industry to provide maintenance, repair and inspection of rail track in support of research, testing and training services to the railway industry in the areas of track; rollingstock; signals and communications; and human factors.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Modify and setup test tracks in support of testing projects and programs in areas of performance, reliability and safety.Provide insight and suggestions for installation, modification and maintenance of rail track for the unique purposes for testing programs.Operate track maintenance machinery such as but not limited to: tamper, regulator and speedswing. Install, maintain, repair and inspect railroad track on various classes of test track using hand & track tools, materials and equipment. Operate spike puller to pull old spikes from ties. Drills holes through rails, tie plates, and joint bars for insertion of bolts and spike, using power drill. Operate track-wrench machine to tighten or loosen bolts at joint bars. Operate rail saw to cut rails to specified lengths. Operate portable grinder to grind worn ends of rails. Raise rail, using hydraulic jack, to facilitate removal of old tie and installation of new tie. Accountable for compliance of all operating rules, policies and guidelines. Attend rules and safety classes and ensure all rules are followed as directed by the Company, FRA, and other governing agencies. Any other duties as assigned by the Company. Testing programs run day and night, so shift flexibility is a must. Shifts may include morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight. Overtime, weekend, and holiday hours may also be required.Five (5) to (7) years’ experience maintaining track.Experience performing maintenance and repairs of rail track in support of testing operations. Ability to react well under pressure in high-stressed situations; accept responsibility for own actions.Observe all safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus for the entirety of the shift.Ability to build professional and courteous relationships with your colleagues and supervisorsMust be able to work independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary teamMust be able to safely climb a 15 foot high ladderRailroad regulations require that the selected candidate must pass an e-RAILSAFE security background check and online safety tests to work on railroad properties. Wearing safety equipment (hardhat, steel-toe boots, protective vest and protective eye glasses) when working on railroad properties is also a requirement. ENSCO will provide all necessary safety equipment.This safety sensitive position will be subject to drug and alcohol screening.Seven (7) plus years’ experience performing track maintenance in accordance with FRA track standards. Experience performing maintenance and repairs of track in support of testing operations.
