SUMMARY: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing a staff of Maintenance Technicians coordinating and implementing the operational and maintenance activities of this team including corrective maintenance SAP preventative maintenance PM and predictive maintenance for various feed mill equipment. The keys to success in this position are to utilize technical and leadership skills and advanced maintenance systems and techniques to direct the safe and efficient operation of all production and ancillary equipment while developing all direct reports. Additional tasks responsibilities includes; Key member of overall facility Maintenance organization; ensures all maintenance related projects and work are in compliance with standards set by USDA, OSHA, SQF, PSM, HAACP and any additional governing agencies by which we manage our business; adheres to and positively supports company policies; ensure facility and support equipment is maintained at a high level of operational performance where all equipment machinery and systems are in an up-and-running state at all times. Schedule and direct the daily activities (with the maintenance planner) of production maintenance staff to ensure completion of assigned planned and unplanned work. In addition, one will work cooperatively with the Maintenance Planning to develop and execute maintenance plans, adheres to maintenance budget related to the assigned areas.
Requirements: Position requires ability to make decisions affecting operational performance. Must have ability to handle high information load. Requires review and analysis of technical information including drawings equipment manuals etc. Must be flexible with working hours and available for overtime when needed. Weekend work will be expected.
Experience: Prefer experience within the Feed Mill industry and industrial maintenance/electronics. 3-year Supervisory experience preferred. Must have a successful record and experience in production equipment maintenance supervision. PLC skills are preferred. Preferred experience in SAP. Demonstrated decision maker who easily interacts with others and who adopts a hands-on approach to leading and motivating team. Excellent leadership interpersonal organizational motivational and communication skills. Knowledge of continuous improvement programs.
Computer Skills: Basic MS Outlook computer skills including Microsoft Excel Word Project and Power Point.
Communication Skills: Requires ability to function with mid-level direction and communicate broadly within facility location. Requires good written and oral communication skills organizational skills ability to work independently and must be results-oriented. Works cooperatively with the Management and internal customers to develop best practices for maintenance activities. Provide formal and informal support and coaching to direct reports as needed to improve performance and or generate opportunities for further growth and development. Possess strong leadership skills marked by ability to articulate ideas delegate appropriately and drive accountability. Communicates across shifts. Provide strong leadership to the team to ensure all practices are completed safely. Ensure all daily safety are completes and all training is completed on time.
EDUCATION: Education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must be experienced in various electrical and electronic operations.
Travel: 5 to 10 trips per year; may be more frequent at the start of hire for effective training purposes.
Special Skills: Never compromises on safety and hold direct reports accountable for all plant departmental and individual goals. Experience with plant start-up a plus.
