Job Description: This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This person is responsible for making hourly checks and documenting the readings for all the ammonia systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, re-circulators, and any piping and associated equipment. Must be able to follow instructions both written and orally. In addition to the ammonia systems, this person is responsible for air compressors, boilers, generators, thermal fluid systems, HVAC systems, air handlers, exhaust fans, ice makers, and water chilling systems and reporting any ammonia leakages. Perform daily PMs on the equipment and perform boiler tests and condenser treatment tests. Visually inspect all their assigned equipment on the roof and within the plant regularly. Develop a thorough knowledge of plant layout, tools, parts and equipment. Maintain and monitor the ammonia refrigeration equipment within safety standards for the entire facility. Good math, reading and writing skills to properly monitor equipment, check and record data. Must be a member of the HAZMAT Team. Working inside and outside of facility as directed, exposed to weather elements outside, wet floors, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment repairs, moving objects, humid, noisy, cramped working quarters at times.
Refrigeration Maintenance positions require one year of ammonia refrigeration experience OR to have completed a technical ammonia refrigeration program OR one year of HVAC experience. If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for consideration they may be contacted for a visit to the facility.
