Job Details:
This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process and insuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This position starts at $20.85/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift and potential for overtime. There is potential to progress quickly within levels based on completed training and demonstrated skills on the job. We have open positions for first shift.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for upkeep of the production equipment, forklift and all equipment associated in supporting production, while also being able to adhere to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must perform planned, routine, or emergency mechanical or electrical repairs on the equipment assigned by management.
Must maintain the equipment in peak operating condition.
Must be able to repair and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
Must be able to accept written and verbal direction from supervisor.
Perform various other tasks as assigned by Leadperson, Supervisor or Superintendent.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
Vocational/Technical institute and/or documented apprenticeship program will be taken into consideration.
Must have the ability to perform planned, routine and emergency work.
Must have knowledge of how to use basic hand and power tools.
Must have knowledge in the setup and operation of machining tools such as lathe, vertical mill, brake and associated equipment.
Ability to effective use calipers, micrometers and other precision tools.
Ability to MIG, TIG and stick weld.
Ability to communicate effectively with company employees and all levels of management.
Familiar with the safe operation of production line conveyor equipment.
Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 0 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit temperature in adverse weather conditions including but not limited to direct sunlight, rain, and frozen precipitation for minimum of 8 hours.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles.
Management will appoint a trained designee to fill in for absentees and vacancies.
ALL employees are responsible for upholding principles of SQF 2000.
May occasionally be required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be willing and able to work at heights of 50 feet.
Must be willing and able to become LOTO/Confined Space certified.
INTERNAL: Must not more than 5 attendance occurrences. Must not have a disciplinary suspension on file in the past 6 months. Must be in your current position for a minimum of six (6) months. Minimum 6 months cumulative industrial maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL: Must have a minimum 6 cumulative months industrial maintenance experience or equivalent training.
