Job Details:

This position is responsible for operating machinery to fabricate structures and equipment. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Applicant will be responsible for fabricating/erecting assigned tasks using various types of metals; stainless steel, galvanized, black iron.   Ranging from angle iron, channel iron, round & flat stock, etc. Must be capable of performing the 3 major types of welding, TIG welding, ARC welding, MIG welding.

Responbilites :

Must be able to safely operate hand power tools, shop equipment to include metal shear, metal brake, drill press, metal lathe, plasma cutter, oxy/acetylene torch, sanders, etc.    Able to weld in multiple positions, flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead.

Must be capable of reading blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.

Perform close tolerance to meet layout print specifications, (using calipers, micrometers, etc. as needed)

Set up and operate welding/fabricating equipment to perform jobs, blueprints, sketches, or verbal orders.

Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications.

Maintain tools/equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.

Including shop tools, welding & cutting gauges, and welding equipment.

Stainless Steel Fabrication is a must; able to shear, metal brake, drill press, drilling/tapping and other shop equipment with precision; Capable of using forklifts and other motorized rental equipment.

Being able to perform machining with lathe, broaching tools and other machining functions preferred but not required.

Applicant must follow company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Must be willing to communicate as needed and understand technical and training manuals.

This position requires standing, walking, bending, stretching, climb up/downstairs and ladders up to 20ft, and lift/push/ pull up to 75 pounds.

Must be willing to work in temperature that range for 20 degrees to 90 degree.

The applicant must be able to understand technical and training manuals.

Requirements:

Must have a minimum of (6) months of continuous work experience in welding/fabricating position with a single employer within the last (12) months or currently attending/graduated from a welding training program in the last (3) years.

Past experience, special training, and formal education is preferred but not required for this outlined position.

Applicant will be required to complete a welder certification through the American Welding Society in the first 12 months of employment.
