Profile

We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Service Desk Technician I in the Technology Services Department. We are filling one position in total and it can be filled in any Alliance office: Salinas, Scotts Valley or Merced.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Reporting to the Service Desk Manager, you will:

Provide first-level end-user support and maintenance of the computer desktop environment by documenting, analyzing and resolving reported technical problems

Perform desktop maintenance, support and upgrades

Provide entry level support of telecommunications, videoconferencing and related equipment and services

Support computer hardware and peripheral components

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Knowledge of:

Methods and tools used to support current Microsoft operating systems

Methods and tools associated with supporting remote users

Commonly used applications in Windows, including Adobe Acrobat, Winzip, GoToAssist, MS Teams, Edge, Chrome, FTP and SFTP

Methods and tools used to provide basic support of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio

Methods and tools used to troubleshoot hardware issues related to PC desktops and laptops

Active Directory

Ability to:

Demonstrate strong customer services skills, on the phone and in-person

Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, adjusting communication style as needed

Exercise tact and diplomacy and maintain a professional demeanor

Organize work to meet deadlines and customer commitments

Work independently and as a member of a

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

A minimum of two years of experience in a computer operations environment which included PC hardware and software support and administration (an Associate’s degree may substitute for one year of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying

OTHER DETAILS

While this position is connected to one of our Alliance offices, we are in a fully telecommute work environment right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The interview and on-boarding process for this position will be completed remotely

This position

may

require onsite presence when our offices re-open, which will be no sooner than April 4, 2022. Onsite presence will most likely be on a part-time basis, but is dependent on business needs

CATEGORY 1&2 TEXT: COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement:

This position requires staff to be fully vaccinated upon their start date as a condition of employment. Proof of vaccination must be submitted at time of hire. Fully vaccinated is defined as receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series (ex: Pfizer & Moderna vaccines) OR receipt of a single-dose vaccine (ex: Johnson & Johnson); AND receipt of the booster (if eligible); AND a 2-week period having passed since the administration of the last vaccine dose.
