SUMMARY

Iyabak Construction, LLC. (Iyabak), a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Laborer. This position will be support various for a remote project in the field as a carpenter and a laborer. Candidate must have a clean driver record for driving to and on jobsite. Lodging is away from jobsite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare vehicles.

Mobilize vehicles, equipment & materials.

Structural steel handling and rigging.

Structural steel demo and alterations.

Operate equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Journeyman level Laborer.

Valid Alaska Driver’s License.

High School Diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Ability to pass a background check (required to obtain the Base Access Pass).

Ability to read and understand construction drawings.

Ability to work at heights.

Skill to work in raingear

Essential and marginal functions requires maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, lifting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent in a non-sitting position with frequent opportunity to move about.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an outdoor setting with exposure to wind, dust, and operational aircraft area. Frequent travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
