Employee acting in conjunction with supervision or individually as directed by supervision will assist and/or direct the training of other employees in the correct operating procedures necessary to fully satisfy the classification duties of Mechanical Repairman A and all lower classifications within the subject line of progression or other duties with which the employee is familiar.3. Employee will, when directed by supervision, report to assigned locations for the purpose of receiving training and will actively participate in the training activities.4. Employee will carry out assignments in training for and/or performing fire fighting and first aid.5. Employee will exhibit an adequate competency level pertaining to activities delineated in the Duties and Qualifications sections of this job classification. Demonstrate such competency via performance of job duties and training and testing programs administered at intervals prescribed by Louisville Gas and Electric to assure correct classification of employees.6. Employee will, during the normal performance of his duties, watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury.7. Employee will perform duties of lower or higher classifications that are incidental to the job and are within his/her capabilities including those needed for the purpose of training in the requirements of the higher classifications.8. Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.9. Employee will report as directed to any facility for any shift where needed.10. Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment.11. Employee will compile information and generate reports, forms and documents as required.12. Employee will represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance and attitude.13. Employee will be loyal to the Company and support its policies, procedures and objectives.SPECIFIC DUTIESDuties which may include but are not limited to:1. Employee will perform skilled and more difficult work to maintain, repair, inspect, install, rebuild, and construct all types of power plant equipment and structures throughout the station; diagnose the cause of and correct trouble that develops in such equipment.2. Employee will work in connection with the care and use of all types of machine shop equipment and tools such as lathes milling machines, shapers, drill presses, metal spray equipment, micrometers and dial indicators. Such equipment shall be used in the fabrication and repair of metal parts to close tolerance and using the parts in the assembly, repair and maintenance of power plant equipment.3. Employee will perform work in connection with the inspection, repair, maintenance and alignment of all types of mechanical equipment such as turbines, boilers, scrubbers, motors, pumps, valves, compressors, motorized vehicles, etc.4. Employee will perform shielded metal-arc welding and manual oxy-acetylene cutting and burning of steel and materials as required in the fabrication, installation and maintenance of all types of power plant systems including grinding, chipping, interpass cleaning and surface preparation, commensurate with degree of skill, training and certification. Mechanical Repairman A will be trained and certified for pressure welding on an as needed basis.5. Employee will fabricate, install and maintain piping systems and pipe systems components such as water, steam, air, slurry and coal piping of different types of materials.6. Employee will remove, replace, and repair valves and fabricate and install sheet metal and structural materials.7. Employee will lay out any type of scaffolding and/or rigging used in the work; direct or work on the erection of such scaffolding, rigging, and blocking.8. Employee will assist, as directed, other employees in carrying through work assignments.9. Employee will instruct, direct, and lay out the work of others assigned to him.10. Employee will mark blueprints to show any field changes which may have been made.,
