CES Technician IJob Summary: CES Technician I has a basic to mid-range understanding of all Calibration related activities and duties and performs work with a moderate amount of supervision or guidance. Support Site Manufacturing and Packaging equipment and related systems/processes including required device calibrations, basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and repairs of existing manufacturing/packaging related equipment, and supporting others with the installation of new equipment and technologies. This position has no direct P&L or budget responsibility, but is responsible for contributing on an individual level to department and site goals and budgets.Responsibilities:Perform mostly routine and non-routine calibrations to keep the equipment/instruments in good working condition by following the SOP\u2019s/procedures.Maintain documentation of all maintenance/calibration activities.Perform duties as needed for emergency and corrective repairs.Assist with new installation or system modification for all equipment and instrumentation.Takes initiative to improve skill and techniques.Follows training or guidance provided by other qualified team members of management.Regular inspection of equipment and the facility to identify and report issues or defects and proper reporting methods to supervisionIdentify and order parts needed to complete corrective and preventive activities in a timely manner.Perform activities with established site and departmental goals of compliance and operation in mind. Read and comprehend instructions, including but not limited to, activity reports, work order documentation and Standard Operating Procedures. Basic troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation situations on facility and related processing equipment. Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment. Flexibility of work hours and/or days along with the ability to work overtime as needed to support 24/7 plant operations. Follow all safety practices, recognize hazards and perform necessary corrections Support other technicians in the group and the site on repairs/upgrades or improvements.Education/Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED RequiredMinimum of 0-3 years\u2019 experience as a technician with a specialty in instrumentation or previous work history with calibration or instrumentation background, preferably within a pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing company.Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics Technology, Instrumentation or Electronics degree is desirable. Training in the form of an apprentice program with on-the-job training would also be taken under consideration. Pharmaceutical experience or GMP experience is desired. Ability to handle basic to medium level assignments in a manner that meets the company's goals. Communicate effectively within the department or group, both orally and in writing, to provide responses to requests, issues or resolutions.Maintain a close working relationship with key customers to ensure superior customer service satisfaction.Ability to be flexible with work priorities and work effectively as part of a team.Self-driven to meet objectives/goals within the organization. Use of basic hand and power tools as necessary to complete assignments.Basic mechanical and electrical trouble-shooting skills.Execute basic computer functions for communications and work order execution.Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.Knowledge of ProCal or other Calibration based software is preferred.Ability to work at times with minimal direct supervision.Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams and read blueprints.Basic knowledge and understanding of computers, PLCs, VFDs and other machine control systems/devices or equipment. Traditional industrial work environment, with frequent walking to other areas of the facility, including production areas, loading docks, mechanical spaces, roofs, catwalks and warehouse spaces. Must be able to wear company designated protective equipment for extended periods of time, including respirators, CAL rated ARC flash gear etc. Must be able to stand and perform tasks or repairs for the entire work shift. Must be able to lift 50 pounds or greater and using dollies or carts, hand trucks be able to move items weighing over 100 pounds. Must be able to operate man or personnel lifts for the purpose of required work activities. Must be able to work in hot and/or cold conditions for periods of time to complete assignments. Must be able to work in closed confined spaces as designated by the company as well as on roofs and on equipment as needed. Business Travel- LT 5%
