RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor compostable refuse levels and dispose of

in appropriate containers

Monitor consumable janitorial supply levels and

order in advance of running out of materials for timely delivery

Primary contact for garbage, cardboard, wood,

plastics and aluminum, cardboard and steel. Monitor levels of all dumpsters and

compactors and call for pickups. Use a

hi-lo to transport materials when necessary

Inventory scrap pallets, schedule

pickup with vendors and dispose of wood body pallets by placing on truck using

a hi-lo

Direct and escort secure shredding

vendor and be the contact for recycled paper

Receive setup work orders for

meetings and meeting rooms

Accompany floor mat vendors when

replacing mats throughout the building

Perform basic work order repairs i.e.

light carpentry

Receives janitorial supplies at the

site and checks for accurate count or materials received

Change light bulbs

Assist building engineers when they

need help on tasks

Escort vendors to work site areas

Be a part of cross functional team

for event setups

Perform minor furniture repairs

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

May require valid driver's license.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Uses personal computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
