Job Description:
The Multi-Skill Maintenance technician is a multi-craft position that will primarily be responsible for repairing all rotating equipment at the site, with secondary skill sets in pipe fitter/Boiler maker/mobile crane operation up to 15ton. This role is a dynamic role designed following Mechanical repair processes including Reactive Maintenance & Preventative Maintenance Activities.
Additionally, the position will require:

Perform assembly of bolted flange connections on piping & field equipment including RVs/Exchangers/PVC/Threaded Piping/Insulation removal
Diagnose and apply results utilizing laser alignment tools for power driven equipment
Perform basic crane lifts as operator/rigger/signal person
The assembly/disassembly of mechanical equipment such as: Turbines, Pumps, Gearboxes, Electric Motors, Fin Fans, Centrifugal Compressors, Reciprocating Compressors, etc.
Calculating dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as Micrometers and Vernier calipers
Measuring, examining and testing completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers
Studying sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances
Selecting the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of mechanical work
Installing repaired parts into equipment, or install new equipment into the field
Cleaning and lubricating machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter
Clearing communications with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information
Dismantling machines or equipment, using hand tools and power tools, in order to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed
Preparing working sketches for the illustration of product appearance
Ability to keep a workspace that is clutter free & clean including worktables, benches, and floor
Basic level Computer skills are required Microsoft suite/SAP/iPad use

What do we need from you?
Minimum of five (5) years as a Class A Millwright Journeyperson. (NCCER Millwright Certification or equivalent)
Demonstrated repair-installation knowledge of Pumps, motors, blowers, gearboxes, compressors and turbines.
Flexibility to occasionally work nights to support plant activities including weekend duty assignments
Ability to work extended hours, holidays, weekends as required
Willing to make callouts after hours and weekends to respond to site responsibilities and emergencies
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future without requiring sponsorship
Must currently hold or be able to qualify to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. Note, information regarding TWIC qualification standards may be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic
Must be able to communicate effectively
Must possess and maintain a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
Willingness to take and achieve satisfactory results on Shell’s pre-employment testing battery
