Role summary:
Work effectively in a team environment to ensure facilities and production equipment are consistently in good working condition by performing repairs and preventative maintenance.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years Maintenance or equivalent experience
Valid NYS Driver’s License
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Responsibilities:
Performs routine maintenance of facility and production equipment as designated by the Maintenance Manager.
Assures proper functioning of various security systems (fire detection and suppression, building access, etc.)
Maintains an efficient work schedule based on assigned tasks.
Conducts preventative maintenance servicing by ensuring work is completed in an efficient and timely manner.
Actively engages in the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with all tasks and projects performed.
Cross-trains other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
Frequent interaction with site management, employees, internal and/or external suppliers, manufacturers, etc. to address equipment concerns.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on site needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Characteristics:
Special education and/or vocational training.
Basic knowledge of plumbing and carpentry skills.
Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic operation and repair.
Basic knowledge HVAC system and tool knowledge.
Industrial machining equipment diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
The hourly pay range for this position is $20.60/hr. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
