Job Description:

The Mont Belvieu facility serves as the \Hub\ for the pipeline transportation of ethylene and propylene. The Pipeline Operator Trainee is an individual contributor role that will be responsible for Shell Pipeline Operations activities within a designated area which includes Pasadena, TX . To be successful in the role of a pipeline operator the selected candidate must meet and pass Shell's Department of Transportation (DOT) Operator qualifications which include elements of safety, maintenance and pipeline inspection.

The Operator Trainee position is to train, qualify and become an Operator for the Mont Belvieu compressor station. Dependent on personnel needs at the time of qualification, the operator may be placed in another position within represented local coverage. This includes operations positions at the Mont Belvieu and Pasadena locations which will be in compliance with Shell Pipeline Policies and the current collective bargaining agreement with the affiliated local.

General Responsibilities include

· Manage overall operations of area asset

· Follow measurement policies and procedures

· Facilitate oil movements per schedule

· Perform daily surveillance of Pipeline sites

· Various monthly & quarterly inspection

Additionally

· Complete the PTW as needed

· Perform all work in a safe manner to achieve Goal Zero

· Damage Prevention, emergency response

· Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulatory compliance

· Local Operating Procedures (LOP) reviews and updates

· Completing and staying current on all required training

· Additionally, duties may vary on product and location

The selected candidate:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Prior industry exposure is a plus

Willingness to take and achieve satisfactory results on Shell’s pre-employment testing battery

Must be at least 18 years old

Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States

Possess or are you able to obtain Hazardous Materials certification
