POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for operating ergonomic lift stand by using dual foot controls to position operator at correct work height.
Responsible for operating a tool with two handed safety controls.
Responsible for learning how to maintain sharp tools to perform their job task correctly.
Responsible for making precision cuts to carcass that allows for correct further processing to achieve desired carcass yield.
Responsible for making precision cuts to carcass to remove hide only to achieve desired carcass yield.
Responsible for making precision cuts to carcass and separate meat from bone to achieve desired carcass yield.
Responsible for inspecting carcass and making precision cut to remove quality defects.
Responsible for operating a powered tool to perform job task.
Average training time may require 2-3 months.
Must be trained and certified in Animal Well Being and Humane Handling.
Responsible for performing continuous monitoring of carcass to identify defects to achieve desired quality and carcass yield. Responsible for record keeping and data entry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must also adheres to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies.
Responsible for setting up area with all needed equipment.
Monitor production area for trash and food debris on floor.
Must be willing and able to complete work cycles in less than 20 seconds.
Must clean up area at end of production shift, including but not limited to sweeping, picking up debris from the floor, and spraying work areas.
Must be willing and able to complete cycles in less than 10 seconds.
REQUIREMENTS:
Perform various other tasks as assigned by Lead person, Supervisor or Superintendent.
Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees’ Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.
Must be willing and able to work in a wet environment.
Must be willing and able to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
Must be willing and able to pinch/grip product and place into specified location.
Must be willing and able to perform the following task for periods of 12 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to bending, twisting, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
May occasionally be required to lift/carry up to 50lbs.
All employees are responsible for upholding the principals of SQF 2000.
Ability to communicate effectively with company employees and all levels of management.
Familiar with the safe operation of production line conveyor equipment.
Internal: Must not have more than 5 attendance occurrences. Must not have a disciplinary suspension on file in the past 6 months. Must be in your current position for a minimum of six (6) months unless this job is a higher class than you currently hold.
External: Must have at least 3 months previous manufacturing work experience with a single employer within the last 12 months.
