What’s the role?
On a day to day basis, the Pipeline Technician is part of the Operations group which reports to the Pipeline Maintenance Supervisor.
Pipeline Technician supports facility operations, pipeline integrity and measurement within the Permian Basin.
Pipeline Technicians are committed to the Safe, Clean, Reliable and Efficient operation of (Shell Pipeline and Station Assets)
Perform pipeline and pump station maintenance activities, monitor oil levels and operations of pumps, check for packing and leaks on station equipment Inspect and report issue of integrity of tanks, mixers, valves, and gauges; perform all required site inspections within specified timelines
Interface with and direct the work of contractors and support other customer needs to assure all field equipment is safe and reliable for operation.
Communicate well at all levels in the organization to assure customers needs are met on time
Lead/direct contract workers in support activities such as general maintenance, construction, vacuum trucks, pigging activities
Required to work with Asset Integrity group, assisting with running smart tools, purging pipeline systems and perform pipeline repairs
Complete and stay in compliance with all Operator Qualification and HSSE training
Conduct Right-of-way maintenance and inspection to ensure accessibility, operable, and secured

Requirements:
What we need from you?
Prefer 2 years’ experience working as a Terminal, Depot, or Pipeline Operator or relevant Military experience
Require minimum high school diploma or equivalent; prefer Associates degree in Process Technology industrial Mechanical field
Must have a valid driver’s License
Must be at least 18 years old, able to read, write and speak English.
Must be able to obtain Hazardous Materials Certification
Must be able to obtain a HAZWOPER First Responder Certificate, must be able to meet the requirements to obtain a Forklift Operator Certification
Experience working in Construction or Mechanical related trade
Experience in conducting Job Hazard Analysis, obtaining and issuing Work Permits and applying Lockout/Tag Out procedures
Proficient in planning, coordinating, and executing preventative and reactive maintenance programs, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and making minor repairs to valves and pumps or other facility assets
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
Willing to work outside in inclement weather with or without accommodation
Willing to work in compact and confined spaces with or without accommodation
Willing to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights with or without accommodation
Willing to respond to emergencies as part of the Emergency Response Team with or without accommodation To attend to emergencies, successful candidates must reside within 60 minutes of the site, or be willing to relocate to within 60 minutes of the site without relocation assistance
As a part of the pre-employment selection process, candidates are required to submit to and receive satisfactory results from all pre-employment background, drug, medical, and reference checks, including hair drug testing.
