SUMMARY:

The position directs the daily duties of material warehousing and distribution to achieve department goals. This position also supports all areas of operation, including but not limited to: production; QA, Maintenance, and Laundry, to achieve plant objectives. Responsible for the procurement and inventory management of all non-meat items in combination with the master scheduling and inventory planning activities at the plant and divisional levels for finished goods. Accountabilities include: inventory levels; inventory obsolescence; inventory turns; operations down-time for material shortages; and cost reductions through material design changes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create a culture of safety and teamwork throughout the facility.

Ensure compliance with GMP, USDA standards, Environmental Control Act and OSHA standards.

Lead health, safety, and environmental processes for assigned areas.

Responsible for compliance with Tyson’s policies and procedures, ethics, plant rules, and all regulatory agencies.

Support the operation in ways to improve efficiencies and to help reduce overall costs.

Lead and develop a high performing work organization utilizing Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement concepts that maximize employee teamwork, contributions, suggestions, and decisions.

Facilitate problem solving and develop action plans to address performance issues and achieve key performance indicator goals.

Supervise 10 to 15 team members to help achieve key performance objectives.

Supervise and assure the execution of daily and weekly material warehousing functions.

Supervise and assure that inbound receipts, indirect labor cost, and supply standards are met to achieve the departmental goals and standards.

Demonstrate good judgment and critical decision-making skills.

Ensure proper scanning pallets of components into warehouse management system, PkMS, ERP and SAP.

Supervise the receiving and unloading of shipments as well as processes the associated paperwork.

Coach and counsel employees.

Supervises and assists with department implementation of projects, new processes, SKU’s, and new equipment.

Ensure accurate and timely completion of all department paperwork.

Supervise the loading of outbound finished goods.

Special projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education : Bachelor s Degree preferred. A Business, Food, or Animal Science concentration is a plus.

Experience : 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience required. Consumer packaged goods preferred. Procurement experience preferred. Supervisory experience in a USDA FDA regulated FOOD manufacturing environment preferred.

Computer Skills : Advanced analytical skills use of PC-based applications, Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with emphasis on Advanced Excel Pivot Tables, VLookup queries, MS Access Query. Strong Working knowledge of SAP, KRONOS.

Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written skills.

Special Skills : Effective time management and organizational skills. Problem solving and planning skills focused on the ability to plan prioritize and execute. Strong working knowledge of PIT operations. Must be able to utilize lean management techniques such as 5S Standardized Work promotion of Pull Systems plus a continual focus on waste elimination through facilitation of problem-solving tools and practices. Must be willing to flex hours as needed to meet business demands some weekend work required. Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. Demonstrated ability in analyzing data formulating recommendations and resolve business issues with a timely manner. Understand process flow across entire facility.

Supervisory : Supervise 10 to 15 team members to help achieve key performance objectives.

Report to: Materials Manager

Travel: 1-3 times annually
