This facility operates five days a week with potential for overtime and produces Taco Shells, Tortilla Chips and Tortillas.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Machine Operator operates machinery for continuous and efficient production of high-quality flour tortillas. This position starts at $17.30/hr. with a shift increase of $1.00 for third shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
COMPLETED LOCKOUT/TAGOUT TRAINING REQUIRED before training or operating line.
Operates all head side equipment per SOP as defined in the Production Manual.
Prepares for start-up or shut down of equipment.
Keeps a legible accurate record as required including Line Operator's Log.
Stops machine to make required adjustments, following lockout-tagout policy.
Maintains good manufacturing practices and personal hygiene.
Keeps department clean and neat.
Notifies Supervisor and QC of contamination, mechanical or operational issues.
Must be able to perform the Machine Operators Training Checklist job tasks by the end of the 10-working day trial period.
Ensure product specifications are met in accordance with customers written specifications.
Must adhere to all safety policies and operate equipment in a safe manner.
Responsible for monitoring and reporting any wear and tear on equipment.
Must have the ability to enter data into the Plant View system.
MUST ATTEND DAILY END OF SHIFT MEETINGS FOR THEIR SHIFT.
Abide by all company policies / procedures, written or verbal.
Work as a team member toward task accomplishments.
Performs all other tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires flexibility of wrists and hands.
Walking, bending, standing and some lifting required.
Lifting of up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
Must be able to move heavy objects (100 lbs.) with mechanical device.
Must be able to perform essential functions of job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Required to use and read scales and thermometers
Must be able to use a calculator to figure production yields, scrap yields, and SPC specifications, etc.
Must be able to read all associated SOP’s including Operator’s Logs, SPC charts, etc.
Must be able to write production recordings in the Operator’s Logs and fill out production documentation completely and accurately.
Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
Applicant must have 3 months of experience with any employer listed in work history section of application.

Selection Criteria
Openings for this position will be filled by the most qualified, eligible bidder per Tyson’s Job Bidding Policy. Must have completed 90-day probationary period to apply. If a non-probationary period team member is not selected, probationary team members will be considered. Must have a satisfactory attendance record of 3 points or less. Must not have received a written warning/suspension in the last 6 months. Current machine operators, blender operators, and packout operators must have 1 year or more in current operator position to bid on a position of the same job profile. Non operators must have completed a six-month period on previous successful bid. Must submit application in WORKDAY.
**This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations or external applicants will then be reviewed for consideration.
