Job Description:
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for providing protection to all personnel and assets at the Shell Chemicals LP - Geismar Site.
The Facility Security Supervisor is responsible for the following activities:
Act as the security focal point and subject matter expert in regard to security related issues and concerns
Act as Rail Security Coordinator and subject matter expert in regard to 49 CFR 1580 - Rail Transportation Security.
Act as Site Data Privacy subject matter expert.
Act as Site Custom Trade Partnership (CTPAT) subject matter expert.
Act as Site Export Compliance Officer
Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws
Meet/maintain defined job (critical) competencies and appropriate training requirements
Establish and maintain a liaison between Federal, State, and Local law enforcement/regulatory agencies
Build and maintain a working network of Security professionals within the private and governmental sectors
Interpret & enforce all existing Geismar policies and procedures & develop counter measures that close identified gaps
Proven track record of developing, implementing and managing Security initiatives in an ever-changing environment
Provide assurance and accountability to Senior management that risks to the organization, both internal/external are managed within acceptable limits
Support investigations in regard to Security & business incidents
Supervise and conduct security-related investigations
Responsible for the handling and safeguarding of Security sensitive information
Ensure Security Team competence to provide specific support in the event of a Site emergency
Mentor/support talent pipeline to provide educated and qualified Security Focal points at other Shell locations
Participate in HSSE audits as required
Manage the Geismar Site Security budget

Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis
Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited College or University in Criminal Justice, Business or other related field is preferred
With at least 5 years Security Operations/Management related experience (in Petro-chemical or Corporate Security facility an advantage)
Knowledgeable in compliance policy with the Facility Security Plan as require by MTSA regulation 33CFR105
The individual must bet credible Security professional with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to operate between different levels of people within the organization
Extensive knowledge of Security Systems, Access control, CCTV, intrusion devices, etc.
Ability to perform necessary troubleshooting
Mastery of understanding Risk Management & Vulnerability Assessments, & applying them to the Facility Security Plan
