The Supply Technician

works in broad aspects of supply and material management related to obtaining, maintaining, categorizing, stocking, receipt, distribution, issue, storage, handling, ordering, tracking and records maintenance as needed to meet the requirements of the Base Maintenance Contract and the installation support requirements. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are

not

intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.

Responsible for inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies, and equipment.

Forecasting, distribution or redistribution of material, procurement authorization, with limited funds management, or other related work.

Coordinates material requirements for special programs, maintenance, or production shops.

Processing and expedite supply transactions

Locates and moves materials and parts between work areas to expedite processing of goods keeping related records.

Reviews inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities orders.

Identifies materials overdue advising operations of status to include location, availability, and condition of materials.

Locates and moves materials to specified areas, using cart, hand truck or other material handling equipment to include forklifts.

Records quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand.

May compare work ticket specifications with material verify appropriateness of material in use.

Update and maintain inventory records, using computer.

Performs physical tasks to transport or store materials or merchandise.

Fills shipping or transfer orders for finished goods from stored merchandise in accordance with specifications on sales slips, customers' orders, or other instructions.

Keep records of outgoing orders, requisition additional stock or report short supplies to management and perform other related duties.

Operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds.

Performs clerical and physical tasks about shipping and receiving materials, equipment, and other supplies required for operations.

Follows established guidelines verifying orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents including bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records; checking for damaged goods; insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment; preparing and keeping records of goods received.

Insures shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles; and preparing and keeping records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests, bills of lading.

Receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, tools, and compiles records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard.

Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice. Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.

Stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material and established storage plans.

Fills orders or issues supplies from stock. Prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock.

Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders. Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory count and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.

Mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.

Distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued. May adjust or repairs to articles carried in stock. May cut stock to site to fill order.

Works within a framework of established supply regulations, policies, and procedures, and governing manual and plan documents.

Maintain Inventories, CA/CRL, FOB, Bench stock, CFM equipment, and Government/Company listings.  

Moves heavy items to including parts and materials, office furniture, appliances, domestic furniture, and DRMO related items

Maintain Materials Acquisitions Plan, the Custodian Authorization/Custody Receipt Listings (CA/CRL) requirements for all government furnished equipment.

Maintain and process the Found-on Base (FOB) and Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DMRO) inventory.

Ensuring that CFM complies with government contractual legislation and codes of practice.

Uses and maintains system to manage materials and inventories in support of all civil engineer functions.

Replenishes bench stock and special level inventories as necessary.

Expediting services as necessary.

Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.

Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.

Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.

Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.

Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.

Uses the National Stock Numbers (NSN) system for processing materials thru this system as necessary.

Ensures work orders when complete are properly filled out and returned to work management

Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to trades or skills.

This position has been designated as Mission Critical.  Mission Critical personnel are defined as those required to meet the Installation’s safety (including inclement weather) and security needs during lockdown conditions.

This position may be part of an emergency management/response team as required by the company to meet contract requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Operations and Maintenance services supporting a military base or civilian installation.

Possession of a valid, non restrictive, state driver’s license

and be deemed insurable under company policy.

A minimum of one (1) year of successful (related) experience and performance in a military or civilian workforce.

Emergency Management/Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) experience.  Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Possess good organization and communication skills, as well as maturity and ability to deal with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company.

Must be able to read, write, speak and, understand directions clearly.

Proficient in computer programs is required for job activities

Must be proficient with government computer programs and databases

Requires experience and knowledge in the use of various computer tracking, control, issue, and receipt programs specifically required to meet daily supply and material management operations as well as the knowledge and experience in the use of material handling equipment. Procures goods and services in accordance with strategic purchasing plans and supports the management of supplier relationships as relevant to contractual requirements.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.  Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
