Title: Forklift Operator – Full Time – South Hutchinson, KS 67505

Description:

This position starts at $16.85/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift. We have open positions for first shift.

Job Description:

Be capable of learning product codes and filling customer orders.

Must operate a forklift and hand jacks to transport product from raw material trailers into meat receiving coolers and from freezer to trailers to be shipped. Also operate a high lift in the freezer to move product as needed.

Maintain proper paperwork for raw meat receiving and warehouse freezer.

Key in product codes for finished product into scanners.

Learn SAP inventory system.

Learn new EIM System and use hand held scanner.

Unload all inbound dry goods and transport goods to dry storage inventory.

Perform monthly inventories in dry storage and cycle counts in warehouse freezer.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Tyson requires each incoming driver to meet all Tyson and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. The successful applicant will be required to obtain a valid Kansas CDL within 6 months, and after receiving the valid CDL they will need to meet the requirements of Tyson Fleet Driver Apprentice Program, which will require the following: No serious motor vehicle violations 15 MPH or over speeding, reckless driving, unsafe or improper lane change, following vehicle ahead too closely, No DWI, No DUI, No felonies, able to pass DOT physical, able to pass DOT drug screen, meet all requirements of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. The Tyson Fleet Driver Apprentice Program will require on-road apprenticeship driving with an approved Mentor for 5-7 weeks.

Ability to visually inspect product.

The temperature of the work area could range between -15 and 100 degrees and there are at times extremely wet conditions. Team members are encouraged to dress appropriately before they arrive at their workstation.

Must wear necessary safety equipment, etc.

Must be able to operate various types of material handling equipment.

Ability to move from one area of production to another.

Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs or more.

Regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, climb ladders, change work levels, twist and squat, climb stairs, reach, push, pull and move about the facility.

Must be able to read explicit simple instructions and do required paperwork.

6-month Forklift experience (Can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months)

6 months continuous employment in the past 12 months
